THE FOUNDERS

Tooting Boxing Club had been a dream of founders Sam and Rick since they started boxing together at the famous Wandsworth Boxing Club (formerly Putney and Roehampton Boxing Club). From the moment they first stepped into the ring, both aged seven, they were hooked on the sport. Growing up at similar weights they competed together and against each other numerous times, winning national titles and building an incredible bond. The passion, dedication and skill in the ring took Sam and Rick all over the world competing for England and Team GB. Both competing at the highest level of amateur boxing winning gold medals in the Worlds and Commonwealth Games and Sam winning a Bronze Olypmic Medal with Rick bringing home a Silver.

After such an incredible run as amateurs, many would expect a professional career to follow. Neither Rick nor Sam were interested in turning pro but more to opening up their first boxing club. They wanted to open their doors to the public and offer experienced coaching from world class boxers that, up until now, so few had access to. Tooting Boxing Club prides itself on welcoming all comers and abilities, offering elite, world class coaching and creating not just a club of those willing to learn, but a community of boxing enthusiasts.
